Social networking sites

Facebook
- This site gives the impression of putting your personality onto the internet. This site is used to connect with people from the present and the past. Most importantly, used to share posts and events that you are interested in and support. Today, if a person is active on Facebook you can tell immediately what generation and the political party they are and what their personal life consists of.

Twitter
- This site is similar to Facebook in showing your personality but this site is used to voice your opinions and observations. This site is more interpersonal than Facebook by having more activity. For example, if an award show is on live rest assure there will be millions of Tweets of people voice their opinions on an artist performance or what they are wearing.

Instagram
- This site is different than Twitter and Facebook by living by one motto: "pictures speak louder than words." This site helps you share what type of life you live, giving a glimpse of what your lifestyle is, our how you want your lifestyle to be because many pictures can be deceiving. Facebook and Twitter allow you to post pictures but a picture on Instagram shed more light about you as a person by shaping your online profile based on pictures rather than status updates and tweets.

LinkedIn
- This site is essential for anyone trying to progress their careers. This site is definitely different than the 3 above, most commonly viewed as the more professional Facebook. This site lets you have a brief summary of your professional image, the experiences you've had and the connections within the industry you have. This site doesn't want your opinions or a picture of your outfit but does want to see the type of professional you are.

Privacy

Privacy and confidentiality are very important issues that new media faces on a daily basis. My paper was on Wikipedia, as part of new media Wiki formats have been very popular and adopted through many organizations. Two problems Wiki faces is exactly the privacy of the information and the user's personal information shared throughout the organization. New media allows companies to store vital information about the firm, customers, and employees. That vital information must be secured because it is easily accessible by hackers. Also, new media allows filesharing throughout the internal organization that must have high confidentiality standards because it can be given to the wrong hand or even intercepted by a third party. Whoever adopts any sort of new media must look into how to protect its privacy and make sure there are no holes in the system.

46-year-old CEO bets $44.2 billion on 1 stock

Netflix briefly passed Disney as the biggest entertainment company in 2018, and analysts and investors alike celebrated a new dawn in the entertainment world. But what these press clippings missed was the bigger story. Because we think Netflix is NOT the future of entertainment. It’s only a small fraction. With PwC estimating the media landscape to be worth an estimated $2.2 trillion in 2021, and Netflix revenue passing $11 billion last year, you’ll see that Netflix makes up only 0.5% of the media landscape. And one billionaire CEO is taking charge of what Netflix DOESN’T do and leading the way for the Next Generation of entertainment. You see, Netflix is a streaming company through and through, and they’re great at that. But this 46-year-old CEO is putting over $44 billion on the table to take over the rest of the market, and he isn’t stopping any time soon. His forward-thinking company, which many people haven’t even heard of before, doesn’t only want to ...

I think we should have a new media that creates a virtual device that allows us to shop in stores virtually instead of buying online. Imagine, at home, you can virtually walk around Whole Foods or Macy's in current time and you can browse around and see the details of the clothing or the quality of the produce. This can be a better experience buying online when you order something and it is nothing like the pictures in person. It would also help companies promote new products to the new generation that shop online but don't browse in stores to find new things. You can also make virtual stores not actual. Just a more better way to shop online.
